Okay, time to get rollin. Lets get some good foundation stuff out of the way.
Everybody needs good chord charts, right?
At some point I’ll probably I’ll probably make some of my own but there are plenty of good ones out there so I don’t feel an urgent need to reinvent the wheel.
2 favorites come to mind. These are ones I always make sure to have a few hard copies around for sharing and reference.
The blog at learntouke.co.uk has a couple posts about the “1st steps to becoming a ukulele hero” and one of them is about chords. It includes a chart that I love because it’s simple but it covers the basics well, and it notes major chords as “happy”, minor chords as “sad” and 7th chords as “jazzy”
Ukalady (Michelle Kiba) has made a great basic set of all chords and flats including 7th, minor, minor 7th, diminished, augmented, 6th, major 7th and 9th and it fits on one page (printed on both sides).
Let me know if you’ve got any faves in the comments.
Thanks Learn To Uke and Uke Lady.
Here’s another favorite that’s a lot more comprehensive and complete. Looking for that crazy Dbadd9? This is the place to find it. It’s a nice looking well designed downloadable PDF too. Thanks ukuchords!
